We are living in a rental. Yes, a 1400 square foot rented town-home. It has seen better days. When I first moved in 5 months ago my girlfriend commented "it's been rode hard and put up wet". Thanks for that lovely southern reference dear. In other words- it has been rented by loads of snowboarders and all at once with several dogs. Kegs once stood on the deck and women's bras probably graced the fireplace mantel. But, I fell in love at once. In love with everything from the hardwood floors to the floor plan and walk in closet. But most of all I loved the price.
So we moved in immediately.
A new house is like a blank canvas, I cant wait to create something wonderful. But also, its a revolving piece of art. I am always moving things around and re-organizing. Our house always feels lived in and comfy, but always refreshing with new looks. I think it drives the kids crazy, but they just roll with it!
One day the kids will appreciate the house they grew up in, even if we move around once in a while. No matter where the house is, it will always be home.
